Working with a team, I designed Credard, a credit card covers generator while working closely with developers in bringing the website to life. Credard allows you to change the skin of your credit card, giving different varieties and a wide range skins for your credit card. It also allows a different format of download like PNG, JPEG, PDF and even the code samples of the credit card designs.

For this design, I focused on both the UI & UX aspect making it attractive, appealing and user-friendly. I created the user-flow and User story of a designer trying to edit card designs to use for her project.

The Problem

 1

Normalized act of self-medicating by both adults and youths  in the society & Decrease in the rate of regular check-up

Self medicating is an act that is so normalized now people don’t see the wrong in it.  You get an headache or fever, you believe taking a painkiller would be the cure. This is what most do and even advise others to do.

Most times, one drug prescribed by a doctor for a particular problem and particular person may be considered as a universal remedy.  But what people don’t know is that; a drug that is effective for one problem in one person may not be so for another. It may even become harmful.

People tend to self-medicate for various reasons including but not limited to:

  • Lack of access to a doctor.
  • Laziness to visit to a hospital and get a checkup.
  • High consultancy fee
  • Lack of time
  • Ignorance.

This has led to decrease in the rate of people who undergo regular checkup. Thus one  could have an underlying sickness which would go unnoticed until the symptoms are blaringly obvious and by then, it might be too late.

Though there are certain classes of medicines that are generally safe to consume, and are available over the counter (OTC), it is important that the facts are rightly known and that people don’t normalize self medication. A regular check up is always the best.

 2

Lack of on-hand access to medical records and file

Not everyone carries their medical records everywhere they go. Most even deem it unnecessary and consider it extra luggage. But accidents happen and having your medical record on hand can be a life saver especially if you an illness or allergy and emergency treatment is required, as certain drugs cannot be taken by people with certain illnesses or allergies.

By creating an app that easily connects people to a pharmacist or doctor at the click of a button, also allowing them to have access and keep track of their medical records, including but not limited to allergy records, drug taking reminders and regular check-up updates and reminders, we can strive to reduce the rate of self-medication and increase the rate of which people take care of their health.
